Background

The provision of JISC Services is defined in Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Service Definitions (SDs) within a suite of documents signed by JISC, service providers, and other possible co-funders (notably ESRC). These documents outline JISC's expectations of service delivery and list data that must be periodically reported to the Monitoring Unit.

The Monitoring Unit hosts definitive online copies of SLAs and SDs for services currently in the JISC portfolio. These documents are normally revised annually, as the portfolio itself or measurements change.

Longer standing Memoranda of Understanding and other text regarding the relationship between funders, service providers and the community may be included in the documents above and may include additional reporting requirements.

A Change Control process exists to enable SLAs and SDs to be modified during the year. In the event of a Change being made the Monitoring Unit retains appropriate records and ensures that an updated version of the document is provided online.

(*) The Monitoring Unit is not responsible for the format or accuracy of the service level and associated documents. These documents are written and maintained by the JISC Service Relationship Management Team.
