Updated 03-Aug-2010: A revised copy of the Education Image Gallery sheet has been produced following resubmitted usage data from EDINA
The Monitoring Unit was recently asked by JISC to produce a brief analysis of JISC Service usage by nation and sector with an emphasis on the services provided at the national datacentres (EDINA and Mimas) and ESDS. The JANET services were explicitly excluded from this work.
Analysis at this level of detail is only possible where service use is reported at the organisation level. Not all services are reported to the Monitoring Unit at this granularity which leads to the apparent "holes" in the attachment section numbering below.
Usage data used in our analysis is typically that of sessions (within which a number of activities — searches, downloads, etc. — may occur).

The paperwork identifies sectors and nations within the United Kingdom. The associated funding bodies in place for the period of analysis are identified in the following table.
